Programme & Curriculum

The Firefly Ed curriculum is designed by educators and adapts to each child’s age, school syllabus, and current level of understanding — while maintaining consistency and continuity across all stages of learning.

Early Learning Foundations — Ages 3–6

At this stage, the focus is on building the skills children need before formal academic learning accelerates. Lessons are paced carefully and reinforced through structured repetition, giving children time to develop confidence.

  • Phonetic awareness and early reading
  • Writing readiness and fine motor skills
  • Letter formation and early number sense
  • Attention, listening, and classroom habits
  • Alignment with school classwork and homework

Primary & Middle School — Ages 7–14

Classes at this level work alongside school learning, reinforcing what is being taught in the classroom rather than replacing it. The emphasis is on concept clarity, consistent revision, and strengthening the core skills behind strong academic results.

  • School curriculum-aligned academic support
  • Step-by-step explanation and reinforcement of concepts
  • Reading comprehension and written expression
  • Test preparation and structured revision
  • Close attention to each child’s pace and progress

Classes are conducted in small groups or one-on-one, depending on the child’s needs and current enrolment.

Learning Materials & How Lessons Work

All learning material at Firefly Ed is created in-house. Worksheets, slides, presentations, and assignments are designed specifically for the children attending. This allows lessons to be tailored to what each child is working on at any given time.

  • Custom worksheets and structured practice material
  • Visual aids and slides prepared for each topic
  • Audio and visual tools to support clarity and retention
  • Digital resources prepared for online learning sessions

Online Classes

Online classes follow the same curriculum, teaching methods, and custom-created material used in in-person sessions. They are available as a supplement to in-person learning, or as a fully online option for families who prefer or require it.

Workshops

Workshops are integrated into the Firefly Ed learning framework and offered periodically through the year. They are designed to complement academic learning — not replace it — by giving children structured opportunities to apply what they know in different formats.

Activities include art, crafts, performing arts, theatre, speech, and confidence-focused sessions. These build communication skills, expression, and the ability to collaborate — areas that classroom learning often misses.

Firefly Ed also undertakes larger collaborative projects such as theatre productions, planned around student interest and readiness, and offered as opportunities rather than fixed commitments.
