Our Flagship Programme: Summer Showtime™ (Theatre Workshop And Play)
The Firefly Ed Theatre Workshop is our premier annual event—a comprehensive, multi-week programme designed for students aged 13 to 18. This intensive workshop brings together young participants to explore every aspect of theatre production, from performance to behind-the-scenes management.
As an intern with the Theatre Workshop, you’ll be involved in:
- Event Planning: Coordinating schedules, managing logistics, and supporting the overall flow of the workshop
- Stage Management: Assisting with rehearsals, coordinating stage setups, and ensuring smooth transitions during performances
- Production Support: Working on props, costumes, sets, lighting, and sound design
- Media Management: Photography, videography, social media content creation, and documentation
- Participant Support: Helping manage and guide workshop participants, fostering a positive and productive environment
- Creative Coordination: Supporting design concepts and creative elements of the production
The Theatre Workshop is a real-world learning experience where interns work alongside professionals and directly contribute to a live theatrical production. Past workshops have run for several weeks and culminated in full-scale performances.
Beyond Theatre: Other Workshops and Events
In addition to the Theatre Workshop, Firefly Ed organizes various educational workshops and events throughout the year. These include:

Internship Roles and Responsibilities
Depending on your skills and interests, you may work in one or more of the following areas:
Event and Stage Management
- Coordinating workshop schedules and participant attendance
- Assisting with stage setups, rehearsals, and performance logistics
- Managing materials, props, and equipment
Production and Design
- Supporting set design, prop creation, and costume coordination
- Assisting with lighting and sound during rehearsals and performances
- Contributing creative ideas and design elements
Media and Documentation
- Photography and videography during workshops and events
- Creating content for social media and promotional materials
- Documenting the workshop process and final performances
Participant Support
- Helping manage and guide workshop participants
- Assisting with group activities and individual support as needed
- Ensuring a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all children
General Event Support
- Ushering and managing audiences during performances or events

- Providing general logistical and administrative support
